Be an Army Officer:

1. Cadet Corps Armed Forces of the Philippines

For those who would want to become part of the Cadet Corps Armed Forces of the Philippines and later on serve as one of the leaders of the AFP, he/she may take the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) entrance examination.

The following are the qualifications to be a PMA Cadet:
  • — Natural born Filipino citizen
  • — Physically fit and of good moral character
  • — Single and has never been married
  • — Must pass the PMA Entrance Examination
  • — No administrative/criminal case
  • — At least high school graduate
  • — Height requirement for both male and female is 5 feet (not to exceed 6'4" for both)
  • — At least 17 years old but not a day older than 22 years on 01 April of the year following
  •      the date of examination taken.
Applicants younger than 17 years old or/and at least 16 years old on 01 April following the date of examination may apply for cadetship provided that the applicant possesses the above mentioned qualifications. Should the applicant pass the qualifying exam, the procedure in handling the underage applicants will apply.

2. Officer Candidate Course (OCC)

For Officer Candidates that will undergo Officer Candidate Course (OCC), he/she must possess the following qualifications:
  • — Holder of a baccalaureate degree;
  • — Natural-born Filipino
  • — 21 to 29 years of age upon admission (no age waiver);
  • — Single and never been married; never borne or sired a child;
  • — Height of not less than 5'0 ft. (152.4cm) both for male and female, but not more than 6'4'' (193.04 cm);
  • — Of good moral character;
  • — Physically, mentally and psychologically fit for active military service (P1 profile);
  • — Armed Forces of the Philippines Service Aptitude Test (AFPSAT) raw score of 71 or higher;
  • — Must have passed other pre-entry written examinations given by the Philippine Army
  •        ··· Army Qualifying Exam (AQE)
  •        ··· Special Written Exam (SWE)
  • — Must pass the Physical Medical Exam and Physical Fitness Test conducted in the Philippine Army thru PAOSC

3. Officer Preparatory Course (OPC)

For Officer Candidates that will undergo the Officer Preparatory Course (OPC), he/she must have the following qualifications:
  • — Commissioned in the Reserve Force as second lieutenant
  • — Must not be over 31 years old on the date of Called to Active Duty (CAD);
  • — Physically, mentally and psychologically fit for active military service (P1 profile);
  • — Holder of a baccalaureate degree;
  • — Height of not less than 5'0 ft. (152.4cm) both for male and female, but not more than 6'4'' (193.04 cm);
  • — Of good moral character;
  • — Armed Forces of the Philippines Service Aptitude Test (AFPSAT) raw score of 71 or higher;
  • — Must have passed other pre-entry written examinations given by the Philippine Army
  •        ··· Army Qualifying Exam (AQE)
  •        ··· Special Written Exam (SWE)
  • — Must pass the Physical Medical Exam and Physical Fitness Test conducted in the Philippine Army thru PAOSC
